KENT

The title Duke of Kent is used since 1799 by the British royal family. In 1934 the fourth son of King George V was created Duke of Kent. Apparently in 1937/39 the Duke of Kent was candidate for the throne of a restaured Kingdom of Poland.
As the present Dukes of Kent descend in the male line from Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, consort of Queen Victoria, they belong to the German dynasty Wettin, with as oldest proven ancestor Dietrich Count in the Liesgau (+ before 976/77).
